Nested Virtualization

Nested Virtualization is a feature that allows running virtualization within a virtual machine provided by the Compute service. This means that user can create virtual machines within other virtual machines, which act as hosts for virtualization. This can be useful when deploying comprehensive "all-in-one" solutions, which are typically installed on dedicated servers and handle workload as virtual machines.

Important

Currently, only clusters based on Intel processors are supported, and only KVM-based virtualization is supported within virtual machines. The use of VMware ESX and other hypervisors is not guaranteed.

To enable/disable virtualization, click on the additional actions icon in the right-hand side of the virtual machine information field and click on the Virtualization ON/Virtualization OFF button.

Note

After enabling/disabling virtualization, it is necessary to restart the VM.
